Nikki Sudden (born Adrian Nicholas Godfrey, 19 July 1956 – 26 March 2006) was a talented English singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He was known for making lots of music! Nikki started a band called Swell Maps with his brother, Epic Soundtracks. They formed the band while attending Solihull School.

Nikki Sudden's Music Journey

Nikki Sudden was born Adrian Nicholas Godfrey in London, England. He loved music from artists like T. Rex, the Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan. These musicians really inspired his own songs.

After his band Swell Maps broke up in 1980, Nikki began a solo career. He also formed another band called the Jacobites with his friend Dave Kusworth.

Working with Other Musicians

Nikki Sudden worked with many famous musicians. He collaborated with members of R.E.M. and Sonic Youth. He also played with Mick Taylor from the Rolling Stones. Nikki even worked with Jeff Tweedy from the band Wilco.

One of the Jacobites' songs, "Pin Your Heart," was covered by the Lemonheads. This shows how much other artists respected Nikki's music.

Nikki Sudden as a Writer

Besides making music, Nikki Sudden also wrote for several music magazines. He shared his thoughts on music in magazines like Mojo and Spex.

At the time of his death, Nikki was writing his own life story. He was also writing a book about a famous house called the Wick. This house was once owned by Ronnie Wood of the Rolling Stones.

Sadly, Nikki Sudden passed away at age 49 after a concert in New York City. He had a heart attack on 26 March 2006.
