Niklas Dyrhaug (born 6 July 1987) is a former cross-country skier from Norway. He competed in the top-level World Cup races for ten years.

Niklas was a very successful skier, especially in team events. He won two gold medals at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships, which are major international competitions. He also earned a bronze medal in an individual race.

He decided to stop competing in cross-country skiing in October 2021.

Niklas Dyrhaug's Skiing Achievements

Niklas Dyrhaug competed in many important cross-country skiing events. His results are officially recorded by the International Ski Federation (FIS).

Olympic Games Participation

Niklas represented Norway at the 2018 Winter Olympics when he was 30 years old. He competed in the 50 km classical race, finishing in 13th place. This is a very long and challenging race!

World Championship Medals

Niklas won three medals at the World Championships: two gold and one bronze. These are some of the biggest wins in a skier's career!

  • At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2015 in Falun, Sweden, Niklas was part of the Norwegian team that won a gold medal in the 4 × 10 km relay race. This is a team event where four skiers each complete a 10 km leg.
  • At the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti, Finland, he won another gold medal in the 4 × 10 km relay.
  • In the same 2017 championships, he also won a bronze medal in the 15 km classical race, which is an individual event.

World Cup Highlights

The World Cup is a series of races held throughout the winter season. Skiers earn points based on their performance in each race.

Niklas had a great career in the World Cup. He finished 6th overall in the 2016 season, which shows he was one of the top skiers in the world that year.

He achieved one individual victory in a World Cup stage race in Finland in 2015. He also stood on the podium (finished in the top three) seven times in individual World Cup races.

In team events, Niklas was part of two winning relay teams in the World Cup. These victories happened in 2012 in the Czech Republic and in 2015 in Norway.
