Nils Lindberg was born in Uppsala, Sweden, on June 11, 1933. He became famous as a jazz composer and musician. But he also explored other types of music. Many of his songs mixed different styles. He blended jazz with traditional Swedish folk music and classical music.
Nils studied music at Uppsala University from 1952 to 1956. After that, he studied how to compose music. He attended the Royal College of Music, Stockholm, from 1956 to 1960. Even while he was a student, he started playing music professionally. He played with famous musicians like Benny Bailey, Lars Gullin, and Putte Wickman. In 1973, he even played with the legendary Duke Ellington during a tour. He also recorded music with singer Karin Krog in 1976.
Nils Lindberg passed away on February 20, 2022. He was 88 years old.
