About Nina Foxx
Her Journey to Becoming a Writer
Nina Foxx grew up in Queens, New York. She went to several colleges, including Hunter College and Baruch College. She earned degrees in psychology and creative writing.
Before she became a full-time writer, Nina Foxx worked for a company called Dell. She even helped create some industrial designs. She also taught psychology at different universities. Nina Foxx often talks to groups and schools across the United States. She shares her experiences about writing and how arts and technology can work together. She does this as part of programs like STEM efforts with groups such as The Links, Inc. and code.org.
In 2019, Nina Foxx and her husband started a special writing retreat called The Writing Sisters Summit. She is also a member of several community groups. These include Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority, The Links, Inc., The Girl Friends, Inc, and Jack and Jill of America.
Her Creative Work
Nina Foxx has been involved in making films. She helped direct a movie called Marrying Up. This film was based on her own book with the same name. She was also an Executive Producer for the movie Magic Valley. This film was chosen to be shown at the 2011 TriBeCa Film Festival.
In 2014, Nina Foxx was nominated for an award. It was for Outstanding Literary Work in Fiction by the NAACP Image Awards. This award recognizes great achievements by people of color in the arts.
