Noah Hawley (born in 1967) is a creative American who writes, directs, produces, and even sings! He is best known for making the popular TV shows Fargo (which started in 2014) and Legion (from 2017 to 2019) for the FX channel. He also worked on other TV series like Bones.
Hawley wrote the movie The Alibi (2006). He also wrote and directed the film Lucy in the Sky (2019). Besides his work in TV and movies, he has written six novels. He is also a singer and has contributed to the soundtracks of his shows Fargo and Legion. He sings cover versions of popular songs, often working with composer Jeff Russo. Hawley is the writer and director for the upcoming FX series Alien: Earth, which is based on the famous film series. It is planned to start on August 12, 2025.

Noah Hawley was born in New York City in 1967. His mother, Louise Armstrong, was a writer and activist. His father was Tom Hawley, a businessman. Noah's grandmother was also a playwright, someone who writes plays.
Noah has a twin brother named Alexi. Alexi is also a TV writer and has created shows like The Rookie.
In 1989, Noah graduated from Sarah Lawrence College. He studied political science there. After college, he worked for The Legal Aid Society in New York City. He helped with cases about child abuse and neglect. His mother had written important books on these topics. Later, he moved to San Francisco, California.
