History of North Creek
North Creek began to grow in 1879. This was when the Clover Leaf Railroad line was built and extended to this area. When a place is "platting|platted," it means that the land is officially mapped out and divided into lots. This makes it easier for people to buy land and build homes or businesses.
In the same year, 1879, a post office was opened in North Creek. A post office is where people send and receive mail. It was an important part of the community for many years. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1957.
