Nottawa Township is a community located in St. Joseph County, in the U.S. state of Michigan. In 2020, about 3,685 people lived here. The township gets its name from the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi, a Native American tribe with a long history in the area.

History of Nottawa Township
Nottawa Township has a rich history, especially with the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi. This area was once the main home for the ancestors of the Nottawaseppi Potawatomi tribe. They settled here starting in 1821.
