Nur Fettahoğlu was born in Duisburg, West Germany. She is one of five children of Fatma and Sinan Fettahoğlu. Her family has roots in Rize, Turkey.
Her family moved to Turkey from different places. Her father's family came from Crete, Greece, after the Ottoman Empire ended. Her mother's family came from Yugoslavia.
Nur went to Beşiktaş High School. Later, she studied fashion design at Haliç University. Before becoming a full-time actress, she worked as a TV anchor. She reported on financial news for the Sky Türk channel.

Nur Fettahoğlu has been married twice. From 2008 to 2011, she was married to Murat Aysan. Later, in 2013, she married businessman Levent Veziroğlu.
They had a daughter named Elisa, who was born on February 11, 2016. Nur and Levent divorced in March 2021.
