Nuteena facts for kids
Nuteena was a special food that tasted like meat but was made from plants. It was a vegetarian meat alternative. The main ingredients were peanuts, soy, corn, and rice flour. This food was based on an even older recipe called Nuttose. Nuttose was created in 1896 by John Harvey Kellogg. He was the brother of Will Keith Kellogg, who started the famous Kellogg's company. Nuteena was very popular with people from the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Many Adventists choose to eat vegetarian foods because of their church's focus on healthy living.
