This music venue was built especially for concerts and opened its doors in September 2002. When it first opened, it was called Marquee N1. It was a place where you could listen to music and also eat.
The O2 Academy Islington as we know it today re-opened in September 2003. It's the smallest of the four O2 Academy venues located in London, but it's still a really important place for live music!
Who Has Played Here? Famous Performers
Many amazing artists and bands have performed at the O2 Academy Islington over the years. When the venue first opened, an American punk band called Alkaline Trio played there.
