Oakridge Park, which used to be called Oakridge Centre, is a huge shopping and living area in the Oakridge neighborhood of Vancouver, British Columbia. You can find it where West 41st Avenue and Cambie Street cross.
The original mall opened way back in 1959 with a big department store called Woodward's Stores. Later, in 1993, Hudson's Bay took over that space. For a long time, Oakridge Centre was one of the two biggest and most successful malls in Vancouver, along with CF Pacific Centre.

A Massive Transformation
Oakridge Park is much more than just a mall now. It has been completely rebuilt as part of a giant project to create a new hub for the city. The goal was to build a community where people can live, work, shop, and play, all with easy access to public transit.
The old mall was closed and torn down in 2020 to make way for the new development. The entire project cost an estimated $6.5 billion!
What's New at Oakridge Park?
The new Oakridge Park is a mix of indoor and outdoor spaces. It includes:
- New Homes: Several tall apartment towers have been built, offering places for people to live. Some of these towers are among the tallest buildings in Vancouver outside of the downtown area.
- A City Park: A large park is part of the design, with a 1-kilometer loop for walking, running, and biking.
- Community Spaces: The area also has a new community centre, a library, a large daycare for kids, and places for live performances.
- Shopping and Offices: There is a brand-new shopping mall with over 140 stores, plus new office spaces.
The first major parts of the project, including the new shopping areas, opened in 2025.
In November 2024, the department store Hudson's Bay announced it would not be opening a store in the new mall, changing original plans.
Getting to Oakridge Park
It's very easy to get to Oakridge Park using public transportation.
The Oakridge–41st Avenue station, which is part of the Canada Line SkyTrain system, is located right at the site. A new underground entrance to the station was built as part of the redevelopment to make access even easier.
The mall is also served by TransLink buses that run along 41st Avenue and Cambie Street. If you are arriving by car, parking entrances are available, but some areas may be affected by the final stages of construction.
