Obie Bermúdez (born January 10, 1981) is a talented Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. He is known for his amazing Latin pop and salsa music.
Obie was born in Puerto Rico but grew up in New Jersey. His music mixes sounds from both places, including salsa, pop, and rock. Many of his songs have won awards.

Early Life and Education
Obie Bermúdez was born in Aibonito, Puerto Rico. He went to elementary school there. Music runs in his family, as both his father and grandfather were musicians.
In 1992, his family moved to Vineland, New Jersey. He finished high school at Vineland High School in 1995. Obie speaks both English and Spanish very well. In 1996, he made his first music demo.
Starting a Music Career
In 1998, Obie Bermúdez recorded his first CD called Locales. This was his official start as a professional singer. BMG Records released Locales.
In 2000, Obie moved to New York City. To support himself, he worked for a while in a laundromat. This job allowed him to meet many different kinds of people. These experiences helped him a lot when he started writing songs.
Rising to Fame
In 2003, Obie Bermúdez got a big chance. He joined the U.S. tours of famous artists like Juanes, Paulina Rubio, and Juan Luis Guerra.
In 2004, he released his second CD, Confesiones. Three songs from this album became Top 10 hits on Billboard's Hot Latin Charts.
In January 2005, Obie released his album Todo el Año (All Year Long). This album included popular songs like Maldita Boca and Ya te Olvide. Todo el Año won a Latin Grammy for Best Male Pop Vocal Album. He also released the song Como Pudiste.
Recent Music and Collaborations
Obie Bermúdez released his fourth album, "Lo Que Trajo El Barco" (What The Ship Has Brought In), on August 29, 2006. This album followed up on the success of Todo el Año.
In 2009, Obie worked with other artists like Danny Rivera and Ray de la Paz. They recorded songs for Songs of the Capeman. This project was based on Paul Simon's play The Capeman, a Broadway musical. Oscar Hernández and his Spanish Harlem Orchestra led the recording.
