Ocio is a small village, also known as a hamlet. It is located in the municipality of Zambrana, in the province of Álava. This province is part of the Basque Country in Spain.

Where is Ocio?

Ocio is found close to the Ebro River. The Inglares River, which flows into the Ebro, actually runs right through Ocio. You can get to Ocio by taking the A-3126 road. This road connects to the N-124, which is near the town of Zambrana.

The village sits in the valley of the Inglares River. Its lowest point is about 526 meters (1,726 feet) above sea level. To the north of Ocio, you'll see the Portilla mountain range. To the south, there are the lower parts of the Toloño mountains. A nearby cliff called Lanos is very famous because it gave the local castle its name and is a symbol of the area.

Ocio's History with Other Towns

In 1919, Ocio became part of the municipality of Berganzo. Later, in 1925, it joined the municipality of Zambrana. Since then, Ocio has been part of Zambrana, along with Berganzo and Portilla.
