Oghlan Bakhshi (born Mohammad Geldi Geldi Nejad) is a talented musician from Iran. He was born in Gonbad-e Kavus in 1993. He is known for playing the dutar and singing.
Oghlan Bakhshi started learning music at a very young age. His father, Adbol-Ghaffar Geldi Nejad, was a director of a music school. This helped Oghlan Bakhshi begin his musical journey early. He also learned from famous teachers like Chari Sahetmuradov, Akmurad Chariev, and Osman Gujimov.
Becoming a Young Music Master
Mohammad Geldi Geldi Nejad began playing music when he was just 6 years old. He showed great talent from the start. When he was 9 years old, he received a special title. Turkmen music teachers called him "Oghlan Bakhshi."
In Turkmen music, a "Bakhshi" is a person who is very skilled at playing the dutar and singing. The word "Oghlan" means "child." So, "Oghlan Bakhshi" means a child who has mastered the dutar and singing. This shows how amazing his musical skills were at such a young age.
Winning Music Awards
Oghlan Bakhshi has won many important awards for his music. These awards show his great talent and hard work.
- In June 2004, he won first place at the Shiraz Arts Festival. This was a big win for him.
- In February 2005, he was named the "best selection of the festival" at the Fajr International Music Festival.
- Later in 2005, he won first prize at the 6th Iranian regional music festival.
- In 2008, he traveled to Prague, Czech Republic. He represented Iran at the World Festival of Youth Folk Music. He won first place there!
- In 2011, he received the Turkmenistan Culture Award. He also won a gold medal at the Golden Age of Turkmenistan Competition. This competition is held by the Turkmen President.

Oghlan Bakhshi's music has even been featured in books. In 2015, one of his performances was included in a book. This book is called The Music of Central Asia. His performance was part of a chapter titled "The Art of the Turkmen Bagshy."
