Oh Jin-hyek (Korean: 오진혁; born August 15, 1981) is a famous archer from South Korea. He is known for his amazing skills with a bow and arrow. Oh Jin-hyek made history by becoming the first South Korean man to win an individual gold medal in archery at the Olympic Games. He has also won many other gold, silver, and bronze medals in major international competitions, showing he is one of the best archers in the world.

Oh Jin-hyek's Archery Journey
Oh Jin-hyek started competing for the Korean national archery team in 1999. It took him some time to win a big individual international tournament. However, his hard work paid off at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Making Olympic History
At the 2012 London Olympics, Oh Jin-hyek won the gold medal in the men's individual archery event. This was a huge moment because he was the first South Korean male archer to ever win an individual Olympic gold medal. He also won a bronze medal in the men's team event with his teammates Im Dong-hyun and Kim Bub-min.
World Rankings and Championships
Oh Jin-hyek was ranked as the number one archer in the world from April 2013 to June 2014. During this time, he continued to achieve great things. He won an individual gold medal at the 2013 Archery World Cup Final. He also earned two individual silver medals at the World Archery Championships in 2011 and 2013.
Later Olympic Success
Oh Jin-hyek continued his Olympic journey at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo. There, he helped Team South Korea win the gold medal in the men's team event. In the individual competition, he was the third-ranked archer, but he lost in the Round of 16 to Indian archer Atanu Das.
