The Ohio State Buckeyes men's volleyball team is one of the top sports teams at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. The team started in 1968. They are part of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA). The Buckeyes have won many titles over the years. This includes 27 regular season MIVA titles and 17 tournament titles. They have also won three big NCAA men's volleyball tournament championships. The team plays its home games at the Covelli Center. Kevin Burch has been their head coach for four seasons.

Home Arena: Covelli Center
The Buckeyes play their home volleyball games at the Covelli Center. This arena is right on the Ohio State University campus. The team started playing there in 2020. Before that, they played for over 50 years at St. John Arena.
Their very first game at the Covelli Center was on January 4, 2020. They played against North Greenville University and won the match 3–0. Over 1,100 fans came to watch that exciting game.
The Covelli Center also hosted the NCAA men's volleyball tournament in 2021. Ohio State had hosted this big tournament before. Those past events were in 1978, 1983, 1997, 2007, and 2017. All those earlier tournaments were held at St. John Arena.
Memorable Seasons and Championships
The Ohio State Buckeyes men's volleyball team has had many amazing seasons. Here are some of their most important moments:
Early Success and First NCAA Appearances
- 1969: In only their second year, the Buckeyes had a perfect season. They won all 24 of their games. This amazing record earned them their first conference title.
- 1975: Ohio State played in the NCAA Tournament for the first time. They had a great record of 19 wins and only 2 losses. They finished in third place after losing to UCLA and then beating Yale.
- 1977: The Buckeyes made it all the way to the NCAA Tournament Finals. They beat Pepperdine in a tough match. In the final, they lost to USC, finishing as the National Runner-up.
Winning National Championships
- 2011: After trying for many years, the Buckeyes finally won their first National Title! They defeated strong teams like Penn State and UC Santa Barbara to claim the championship.
- 2016: The Buckeyes won their second national title. They beat George Mason, UCLA, and BYU in the tournament. Miles Johnson was named the Most Outstanding Player for his amazing performance.
- 2017: In an incredible repeat, the Buckeyes won their second straight National Championship. This was their third title overall. They played in front of their home fans and defeated Hawaii and BYU. Nicolas Szerszen was recognized as the Most Outstanding Player.
Coaches Who Led the Team
Many talented coaches have led the Ohio State Buckeyes men's volleyball team. One of the most successful coaches was Pete Hanson. He coached the team for a very long time, from 1985 to 2019. During his time, the Buckeyes won 18 MIVA titles and all three of their NCAA National Championships.
The current coach is Kevin Burch. He has been leading the team for four seasons.
