Olacapato is a small village and rural municipality located in the Salta Province of northwestern Argentina. It is known for being one of the highest towns in Argentina, sitting at an amazing elevation of 4,090 meters (about 13,418 feet) above sea level.
According to a census from 2001, Olacapato had a population of 186 people. This means it's a very small community where people live spread out across the countryside.
Climate in Olacapato
Olacapato has a cool climate because it is so high up in the mountains. The average temperature throughout the year is around 7.1 degrees Celsius (about 44.8 degrees Fahrenheit).
