History
How Old Bargersville Got Its Name
Old Bargersville has an interesting story behind its name. The area was first planned out in 1850. A person named Jefferson Barger was responsible for this. He decided to name the new community "Bargersville" after himself.
The Name Change
Later on, another new town was created nearby. This new town was also named Bargersville. To avoid confusion between the two places, the original community's name was changed. It became known as "Old Bargersville" to show it was the first one.
