Old Jack's Boat is a fun British TV show made for young children. It stars Bernard Cribbins as Old Jack. He owns a colourful boat called The Rainbow. In each episode, Old Jack tells a story to his loyal dog, Salty. The show first aired on CBeebies on January 21, 2013.
Making Old Jack's Boat
This show was filmed in a beautiful place called Staithes. It's a village in Yorkshire, England. The amazing scenery of Staithes is a big part of the show. Bernard Cribbins, who plays Old Jack, loved filming there. He said the sea air and friendly people made it a very special place.
Famous writer Russell T Davies wrote some stories for the first two series. He had worked with Bernard Cribbins before on Doctor Who. This was the first time Russell T Davies wrote for very young children. He found it exciting to write for this age group. He said it's when imagination first starts!

What Happens in an Episode?
Each episode of Old Jack's Boat usually starts with the catchy theme song. Then, you see Old Jack, Salty the dog, and other characters doing things around the village.
Later, Jack and Salty head to The Rainbow boat. Jack often has something to fix or do. But he puts it off to tell Salty a wonderful story.
After the story, you see Jack and the other characters again. You find out if they finished what they were trying to do earlier.
Finally, the instrumental version of the theme song plays. Jack and Salty walk off into the distance.
Other Adventures
There are also spin-off shows from Old Jack's Boat. One is called Old Jack's Boat: Rockpool Tales. It's all about the adventures of sea creatures. Another is Salty's Waggy Tales, which follows the adventures of Salty the Dog.
