It sits right on North Carolina Highway 343 and is about 7 feet (2.1 m) above sea level. Why Is It Called Old Trap?
The community of Old Trap got its interesting nickname, "The Trap," a long time ago. People in the area used to call it this because of certain places where adults gathered. Some locals felt these places were not very good for the community. Over time, the name "Old Trap" stuck, and it's still used today!
