Life and Education
Olga Jevrić was born in Belgrade, Serbia, in 1922. She finished high school in 1941. At first, she didn't pass the test to get into art school.
Studying Art and Music
But the next year, she tried again and got in! She joined both the Academy of Fine Arts and the Academy of Music in Belgrade. This means she studied both art and music at the same time.
In 1948, Olga finished her studies in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts. She learned from a teacher named Sreten Stojanović. She also got a special advanced degree in 1949. Besides art, she also studied art history in Belgrade.
Becoming a Member of Important Groups
In 1950, Olga Jevrić became a member of two important groups. These were the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) and SLUJ. Being a member of these groups showed how talented and respected she was.
Exhibitions and Legacy
Olga Jevrić had her very first art show in 1948. From then on, her sculptures were shown in many exhibitions. These shows happened both in Serbia and in other countries. She also received many awards for her work.
A Special Gift
Olga Jevrić made a very special gift to the Belgrade Heritage House. On February 10, 2006, she signed a special paper. She gave 47 of her sculptures to the house. These sculptures were made from interesting materials. They included iron-oxide, iron, cement, terracotta, and plaster. This gift helps people see her art for many years to come.
Olga Jevrić passed away in Belgrade on February 10, 2014. She was 91 years old. Her art continues to inspire many people.
