Oliver Carminow (sometimes spelled Carminowe) was an important person in the history of England. He lived a long time ago, in the 1500s. Oliver Carminow was from a place called Fentongollan in Cornwall, a county in the southwest of England. He became a Member of Parliament, which means he was chosen to represent people in the English government. He passed away in the year 1597.

Oliver Carminow followed in his father's footsteps. His father, John Carminow, was also a Member of Parliament. Being an MP meant Oliver helped make laws and decisions for the country.

Oliver Carminow represented different areas in Parliament during his career. He served for:

St Mawes from 1563 to 1567
Truro from 1572 to 1581
Tregony from 1586 to 1587

Each time, he was chosen by the people of these towns to speak for them in the government.

His Family and Fortune

Oliver Carminow married a woman named Mary Coryton. She was the daughter of Peter Coryton. Together, they had two daughters. Oliver inherited a large amount of money and property from his family. However, it is said that he spent a lot of this money before he died.
