Early Life and Education
Olivia Delcán was born in 1992 on the island of Menorca, which is part of the Balearic Islands in Spain. She spent her childhood living in different places, including Los Angeles, New York City, Menorca, and Madrid. Olivia studied acting at the William Esper Studio in Manhattan, a well-known school for performing arts.
Her Acting Journey
Olivia Delcán has acted in several films. Two of her early movies were Isla bonita and Far from the Sea, both released in 2015. Far from the Sea was even shown at the 63rd San Sebastián International Film Festival.
In 2016, Olivia was nominated for the 'Best New Actress' award at the Cinema Writers Circle Awards in Spain for her role in Isla bonita. She also won the Turia award for 'Best New Actress' for the same film that year. In 2017, she won the G Award for 'Best Actress' at the Giffoni Film Festival for her work in the short film El vestido (The Dress).
Olivia has also had regular roles in popular TV shows. In 2016, she played Bambi in nine episodes of Locked Up (also known as Vis a Vis (season 2)). In 2019, she appeared as Vicky López in 13 episodes of Drug Squad: Costa del Sol. From 2020 to 2022, she played Sister Camila in the series Warrior Nun.
Becoming a Writer and Director
Besides acting, Olivia Delcán is also a writer and director. When she was just 24 years old in 2016, she wrote a play called About Last Night. This play tells the story of a young person who spends too much time partying. Olivia also directed the play when it was performed in 2019 at Café Berlin in Madrid.
