Early Life and Education
Olivia Price was born in Sydney, Australia. She grew up in a place called Drummoyne. For her early schooling, she went to Drummoyne Public School.
Later, she attended St Catherines School. To focus more on her sailing training, Olivia chose to study at Sydney Distance Education High School. This allowed her to balance schoolwork with her passion for sailing. She finished high school in 2011.
Life as an Athlete
Olivia lives in Sydney. She was part of The University of Sydney's Elite Athlete Program. This program helps top athletes manage their studies and sports training.

Getting Started in Sailing
Olivia Price is a skilled sailor. She has experience as both a bowman and a skipper. A bowman sits at the front of the boat. A skipper is the leader who steers the boat.
Since 2010, Euan McNicol has been her coach. Olivia mainly trains in Sydney. She also has a training base in Weymouth, England. She is a member of the Middle Harbour Yacht Club. Olivia has received scholarships from the Australian Institute of Sport and the New South Wales Institute of Sport. These scholarships help support her training.
Early Achievements
In 2008, when Olivia was just 16, she started competing in the ISAF World Cup Women's Match Racing Tour. She was the youngest woman in this competition for several years.
By 2010, she was ranked the number one bowman in the world by the ISAF Women's World Ranking. That same year, she won first place as a crew member at the Australian National Open Match Racing Champion event. As a skipper, she also won the Australian Women's Match Racing Champion title.
Olivia earned a gold medal at the 2010 ISAF Sail for Gold World Cup in Weymouth. Her team finished third at the 2010 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championships. In 2010, her team was ranked first in the world for Women's Match Racing.
Road to the Olympics
In 2011, Olivia teamed up with Nina Curtis and Lucinda Whitty. They formed their Elliott 6m team. Olivia was the skipper from the beginning.
They competed in the Perth 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships, finishing eighth. Her team also placed third in match racing at the ISAF Nations Cup Grand Final. They finished fifth at the 2011 Weymouth & Portland International Regatta. At the 2011 European Championships, her team came in seventh.
In 2012, Olivia's team had great success. They finished first at the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Weymouth. They were second at the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Miami. They also placed third at the ISAF Sailing World Cup in Spain. Before the Olympics, her team competed in the 2012 ISAF Women's Match Racing World Championship. They were ranked sixth in the world going into this event.
Olympic Success
Olivia Price was chosen to represent Australia at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She was the skipper for the Elliott 6m team. She was the youngest member of Australia's sailing team at those Games.
Before the Olympics, she trained at the Australian Institute of Sport's center in Italy. Olivia knew that if she won a medal, she would be the youngest female to do so in her event. She achieved this goal by winning a silver medal!
After the 2012 Olympics
After the 2012 Olympics, Olivia took a break from sailing for five years. She was not selected for the 49erFX class at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
In September 2021, Olivia returned to sailing. She teamed up with Evie Haseldine. They compete in the 49erFX class. In July 2023, they finished 10th at the Olympic Test Event in Marseille.
Coached by Victor Paya, Olivia and Evie won a bronze medal at the 2023 Sailing World Championships. This win secured Australia a spot in the sailing competition at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
