Olivier Adam (born July 12, 1974) is a French writer and screenwriter. He writes many books, including some for young adults. His very first novel, Je vais bien, ne t’en fais pas (which means Don't worry, I am fine), was even made into a movie! He also won a special award called the Prix Goncourt de la Nouvelle in 2004 for his collection of short stories called Passer l'hiver.
Olivier Adam grew up near Paris, France. Now, he lives in a beautiful area called Brittany, close to the city of Saint-Malo. Besides writing books, he also helps write movies. He worked on the scripts for films like Don't Worry, I'm Fine (2006) and Welcome (2009).

About Olivier Adam
Olivier Adam was born on July 12, 1974. He grew up in a town called Draveil with his two brothers. His dad worked at a bank. Olivier went to a university in Paris where he studied how to manage cultural projects. There, he met his future partner, Karine Reysset.
He first worked helping local towns with their cultural plans. He also helped start a literary festival called Correspondances de Manosque in 1999. Later, he worked briefly in publishing, helping to choose books for a collection.
His first novel, Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas, came out in 2000. People really liked it! After his third novel, Poids léger (Lightweight), was published in 2002, he decided to become a full-time writer. This book was also turned into a movie in 2004.
Olivier Adam also writes books for young people. He even leads writing workshops in schools to help young writers. In 2004, he won the important Prix Goncourt de la nouvelle for his short story collection Passer l'hiver. In 2005, he moved from Paris to Saint-Malo in Brittany. He even wrote about this town in his 2009 book Des vents contraires. He moved back to the Paris area in 2014.

Movies Made from His Books
Many of Olivier Adam's books have been turned into movies or TV shows!
- His book Poids Léger became the film Lightweight. It was directed by Jean-Pierre Améris and starred Nicolas Duvauchelle and Bernard Campan.
- À l'abri de rien was made into a TV movie called Maman est folle, starring Isabelle Carré.
- Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas was adapted into the film Don't Worry, I'm Fine in 2006. Kad Merad and Mélanie Laurent played the main characters. The movie was nominated for several César awards (like the French Oscars!). Kad Merad won for best supporting actor, and Mélanie Laurent won for Most Promising Actress.
- Des vents contraires was also made into a film with the same name in 2011, starring Audrey Tautou.
- A short story called Nouvel An from his collection Passer l'hiver became the film Passer l'hiver, directed by Aurélia Barbet.
- Le Cœur régulier was adapted into a film in 2016. Vanja d'Alcantara directed it, and Isabelle Carré starred in it.
