Olivier Adam (born on July 12, 1974) is a French author and screenwriter. He writes books for both adults and young people. His first novel, Je vais bien, ne t’en fais pas (which means Don't worry, I am fine), was even made into a movie. He also wrote La messe anniversaire, a book for young adults. Olivier Adam won a special award called the Prix Goncourt de la Nouvelle in 2004 for his collection of short stories, Passer l'hiver.
He grew up in the suburbs of Paris, France. Later, he lived in Brittany, a region near the sea. Olivier Adam has also helped write screenplays for movies. Some of these include Don't Worry, I'm Fine (2006) and Welcome (2009).

Early Life and Education
Olivier Adam was born on July 12, 1974. He grew up in a town called Draveil with his two brothers. His father worked at a bank. Olivier went to Paris Dauphine University. There, he studied how to manage cultural businesses. This is where he met Karine Reysset, who would become his partner.
Starting His Writing Career
Before becoming a full-time writer, Olivier Adam worked as a consultant. He advised local governments on cultural projects. He also helped start a literary festival called Correspondances de Manosque in 1999. For a short time, he worked in publishing, helping to manage a collection of books.
His first novel, Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas, came out in 2000. It was very popular and received good reviews. After his third novel, Poids léger (Lightweight), was published in 2002, he decided to focus only on writing. This book was later made into a movie.
Olivier Adam also started writing books for young people. He even led writing workshops in schools. In 2004, he won the Prix Goncourt de la nouvelle for his short story collection, Passer l'hiver. He moved to Saint-Malo in Brittany in 2005. He later moved back to the Paris area in 2014.

Many of Olivier Adam's books have been turned into films or TV shows:
- Poids Léger became the film Lightweight (2004). It was directed by Jean-Pierre Améris.
- À l'abri de rien was adapted for television as Maman est folle.
- Je vais bien, ne t'en fais pas became the film Don't Worry, I'm Fine in 2006. This movie was very successful. It was nominated for several César awards, which are like the French Oscars.
