Omar Johnson is a well-known American college baseball coach. He used to play baseball as an outfielder. Today, he is the head coach for the Jackson State Tigers baseball team. He has led his team to many victories!

Early Life and Playing Days
Omar Johnson grew up in Miami, Florida. He went to Miami Senior High School.
After high school, he attended the University of North Alabama. There, he played baseball for the North Alabama Lions baseball team. He was an outfielder, which means he played in the outfield, catching balls and helping his team win.
Coaching Career Begins
After his time as a player, Omar Johnson started his coaching journey. He worked as an assistant coach for the North Alabama team. He learned a lot about coaching during this time.
In June 2006, he became the head coach at Jackson State University. This was a big step in his career. He also had a cool experience coaching the German national baseball team in 2009 at a special event called the World Baseball Challenge.
Omar Johnson's Coaching Success
Coach Johnson has had a very successful career leading the Jackson State Tigers. He has won many games and helped his team achieve great things.
- He has won the SWAC Tournament twice, in 2013 and 2014.
- His team has won the SWAC East division championship seven times! These wins happened in 2007, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2013, 2017, and 2021.
- In 2021, he was even named the SWAC Coach of the Year. This award shows how much his hard work and leadership are appreciated.
As of the end of the 2025 season, Coach Johnson's overall record is 603 wins and 392 losses. That's a lot of wins! He has truly made a big impact on college baseball.
