One Prudential Plaza is a very tall building in Chicago, Illinois. It has 41 floors and is also known as the Prudential Building. It was finished in 1955. This building was once the main office for a big company called Prudential in the middle of America.

About One Prudential Plaza

One Prudential Plaza is famous for its really tall antenna. This antenna reaches about 311 feet (95 meters) into the sky! The building itself is 601 feet (183 meters) tall. But with its antenna, it reaches an amazing 912 feet (270 meters) high. That makes it one of the tallest buildings around.

Building History and Ownership

When it was first built in 1955, One Prudential Plaza was a very modern skyscraper. It was a big deal for Chicago at the time. In May 2006, this building and its neighbor, Two Prudential Plaza, were sold together for a lot of money – $470 million! This shows how valuable these important buildings are.

A Place for Important Campaigns

One Prudential Plaza has also been part of important events. In 2012, it was used as the main office for Barack Obama's campaign. This was when he was running for president of the United States again. It shows how big and important the building is, to be chosen for such a major event.
