One US Bank Plaza is a tall building in Downtown St. Louis, Missouri. It used to be called One Mercantile Center. This building has 36 floors and stands about 147.5 meters (484 feet) high. An antenna on top makes it even taller, reaching 180.4 meters (592 feet).
The building was finished in 1976. In the 1990s, another building next to it, called the Ambassador Building, was taken down. That space then became part of One US Bank Plaza's outdoor area.
Design and History
The One US Bank Plaza building has a special design style called Structural Expressionism. This means that parts of the building's structure, like its beams and columns, are shown on the outside. It's like the building is showing off how it's built!
This building was first made for a company called Mercantile Bancorporation. Later, in 1999, another company named Firstar bought Mercantile. Then, in 2001, Firstar changed its name to U.S. Bancorp. That's why the building is now called One US Bank Plaza.
