First Generation (1986–1994)
The first version of the Opel Omega was introduced in 1986. This car was also known by a different name in the United Kingdom. In the UK, it was sold as the Vauxhall Carlton. The car received an update, or "facelift," in 1991. This facelift gave it a refreshed look.
Second Generation (1994–2003)
The second version of the Opel Omega arrived in 1994. When this new generation came out, the car's name changed in the UK. It was then sold as the Vauxhall Omega in the United Kingdom. This second generation also got a facelift in late 1999, which updated its appearance again.
Where the Omega Was Sold
Besides being sold as the Opel Omega and Vauxhall Omega, this car was also available in the United States. In the US, it was sold as the Cadillac Catera. The Cadillac Catera was sold from 1997 to 2001. It also received a facelift for the 2000 model year.
End of Production
The Opel Omega stopped being made in 2003. After it was discontinued, Opel did not release a direct replacement for it.
