History of Orleans
Orleans was first planned and marked out in the year 1851. This was when people decided where roads and buildings would go. Later, in 1860, a post office was opened in Orleans. This was an important place for people to send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years. However, it eventually closed down in 1887.
