Osamu Umeyama (梅山 修, Umeyama Osamu, born August 16, 1973) is a former Japanese football player. He played as a defender during his career.

Osamu Umeyama's Football Journey
Osamu Umeyama was born in Saitama, Japan, on August 16, 1973. After finishing high school, he began his professional football career. He joined the Japan Football League (JFL) club NKK in 1992.
Early Career and Club Changes
Umeyama played many games as a right-side defender for NKK. However, the club stopped playing at the end of the 1993 season. In 1994, he moved to another JFL club, Fujieda Blux. This club later became known as Avispa Fukuoka.
Becoming a Regular Player
At Avispa Fukuoka, Umeyama became a key player. The team won the JFL championship in 1995. This win helped them move up to the J1 League in 1996, which is Japan's top football league.
Moving to FC Tokyo
In 1998, Umeyama joined Tokyo Gas, another JFL club. This club later changed its name to FC Tokyo. He played many matches there. FC Tokyo was promoted to the J2 League in 1999. Then, in 2000, they moved up to the J1 League.
Loan to Verdy Kawasaki
In 2000, FC Tokyo signed another defender, Naruyuki Naito. This meant Umeyama didn't get to play as much. In June 2000, he went on loan to Verdy Kawasaki. He played for them for a short time. He returned to FC Tokyo in 2001 but still found it hard to get playing time.
Later Career and Retirement
In 2002, Umeyama moved to Shonan Bellmare, a J2 League club. He played regularly for two seasons there. In 2004, he joined Albirex Niigata. He continued to play many games for three seasons. Osamu Umeyama retired from professional football at the end of the 2006 season.
