The Ostioneros de Guaymas was a professional baseball team from Guaymas, a city in Sonora, Mexico. They were known for their exciting games and many championships.
The Ostioneros were one of the first four teams to start the Mexican Pacific Coast League. This league was like a smaller, professional baseball league in Mexico. It played games from 1945 to 1958. The Ostioneros were very good, winning championships in the 1947–48 and 1950–51 seasons. Juan Guerrero and Luis Montes de Oca were their managers during these winning years.
In 1958, the league changed its name to the Sonora Winter League. This new league continued until 1992 and is seen as the start of the modern Mexican Pacific League. The Guaymas team kept playing and winning! They won more championships in 1958–59 and 1959–60 with manager Manuel Magallón. They also won in 1962–63 and 1964–65 under Guillermo Frayde.
