Otívar is a small village located in the Province of Granada, Spain. It sits about 268 metres above sea level. In 2018, about 1,029 people lived there.

Most people in Otívar work in farming. They grow many kinds of tropical fruits. The area around Otívar is very beautiful with tall mountains. Because of this, some people from northern Europe visit for holidays. A few have even moved there and become part of the local community.
Nature and Parks
Just west of Otívar, you can find the Sierras of Tejeda, Almijara and Alhama Natural Park. This is a large protected area with amazing landscapes. It is a great place to explore nature.

Otívar has a unique climate. It is a mix of a subtropical climate and a coastal Mediterranean climate. This special weather is perfect for growing a fruit called the "Níspero." You might know it as the "loquat" in English.
