Oya Aydoğan (born 10 February 1957 – died 15 May 2016) was a famous Turkish actress, model, and TV presenter. She won the Ses Magazine Movie Actress Contest in 1976, which helped start her career.

Oya Aydoğan sadly passed away on 15 May 2016. This was after she suffered from a serious health issue called an aortic aneurysm on 7 May 2016.

Early Life and Beginnings

Oya Aydoğan was born in Erzincan, Turkey, on 10 February 1957. Her parents were Cemal and Güldane Aydoğan. She was the second child in her family. For the first eight years of her life, she lived with her family in Beyoğlu, a district in Istanbul.

Dreams of Acting

While she was still in school, Oya decided she wanted to be an actress. In 1975, she won a beauty contest called Alev Gün. However, her family was not happy about it, and she had to give back the award.

A Career in Acting and TV

In 1976, Oya Aydoğan won the Ses magazine's 8th Cinema Artist Competition. This was a big step for her acting career. In the same year, she got a main role in the movie Deli Şahin, acting alongside the famous Cüneyt Arkın.

Popular Movies and TV Shows

In 1978, she joined the cast of Neşeli Günler, a movie made by Ertem Eğilmez. After 1980, she acted in movies that had a special music style called Arabesque. In 1982, she played the character Hüsniye in the movie Yedi Bela Hüsnü with Kemal Sunal. During the 1980s, she also worked as a singer in entertainment venues. In 1986, she made the movie Merhamet with singer Emrah.

From 2007 to 2010, Oya Aydoğan was in the fantasy-comedy TV series Bez Bebek on FOX. In 2011, she became a TV presenter with Emel Müftüoğlu on a show called Şekerli Kahve. Before she passed away, she was a presenter on Beyaz TV's program Söylemezsem Olmaz with Lerzan Mutlu.

Awards and Recognition

Oya Aydoğan received several awards for her work. In 2013, she was given an "Honorary Award" at the Uluslararası Çayda Çıra Film Festival in Elazığ.

Best Supporting Actress

For her role as Meloş in the movie Kedi Özledi, she won the "Best Supporting Actress" award. This was at the 2014 Sadri Alışık Awards, which celebrate acting achievements. In 2015, Oya Aydoğan and Ferdi Tayfur were honored at the Magazinci.com 15 Year Internet Media Awards.

Personal Life

In February 1978, Oya Aydoğan met Haluk Ulusoy. They secretly got married in 1979. However, because their families were not happy, they divorced after only four months. Both Oya and Haluk later said this marriage was a mistake they made when they were young.

In 1988, she married Latif Demirbağ. They had a son together named Gurur. They divorced in 1989.

Interests and Inspirations

In 2004, Oya Aydoğan shared that she was a follower of Alevism, a religious and cultural tradition. In 2011, she mentioned that she could speak French very well and also understood English. She looked up to the famous actress Türkan Şoray as her childhood hero. Oya also helped actress Fahriye Evcen when she was starting her career.

Passing Away

On 8 May 2016, Oya Aydoğan had a 12-hour surgery. This was due to an aortic aneurysm, a serious condition affecting a major blood vessel. She was then placed in intensive care.

Sadly, on 15 May 2016, while still in the hospital, she passed away in Istanbul. She was 59 years old. On 16 May 2016, she was buried at Ulus Cemetery, as she had wished.
