Pablo Heras-Casado is a famous Spanish conductor. He was born in 1977. He is known for leading many different types of music, from very old to very new.

Early Musical Journey
Pablo Heras-Casado started his musical journey at a young age. He began singing in a school choir when he was seven. At nine, he started taking piano lessons. He studied music at the conservatory in Granada, Spain. Later, he went to the Universidad de Granada. There, he focused on art history and acting. He also studied conducting at the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares. Some of his important conducting teachers were Harry Christophers and Christopher Hogwood.
A Conductor's Career
Pablo Heras-Casado has had a very busy and successful career.
Starting New Music Groups
In the mid-1990s, he helped start a group called Capella Exaudi. This group played very old music. At the Universidad de Granada, he also helped create SONÓORA. This group focused on modern and experimental music. In 2002, he founded the Barroca de Granada Orchestra. In 2007, he co-founded La Compañía Teatro del Principe. This group uses old instruments to play Spanish operas from a long time ago.
Working with Famous Orchestras
Pablo Heras-Casado has conducted many famous orchestras around the world.
- In 2008, he performed in the United States for the first time. This was with the Ensemble ACJW at Carnegie Hall in New York.
- He also made his debut in the United Kingdom in 2008. He conducted the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain.
- In 2011, he started working with the Orchestra of St. Luke's. He became their main conductor.
- He first conducted at the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 2013. He led the opera Rigoletto.
- From 2015 to 2018, he was the main guest conductor at the Teatro Real in Madrid.
- He has also conducted the Vienna Philharmonic and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra.
Special Achievements

- In 2007, he won the Lucerne Festival Conductors' Competition.
- He was named "Conductor of the Year" by Musical America in 2014.
- In 2017, he became the first "Conductor Laureate" for the Orchestra of St. Luke's. This is a special title.
- He was also chosen to be the Director of the Granada Festival in 2017. He led his first festival in 2018, and it was very successful.
- In 2019, he conducted his 1,000th concert! This was with the Karajan-Akademie der Berliner Philharmoniker.
