The Palace of Florence Apartments is a special historic building in Tampa, Florida, USA. It's an apartment building with 28 homes. You can find it on Davis Islands at 45 East Davis Boulevard. This building is known for its beautiful design and interesting history.
Building Design
Construction on the Palace of Florence started in 1925. Its design is called Mediterranean Revival architecture. This style mixes old ideas from the Middle Ages and classical times. It makes the building look like a grand Italian palace, or "palazzo." A cool part of the building is its tall, four-story tower with an outside staircase.
The artist Athos Menaboni designed the building. He based his design loosely on the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, Italy. That's why the building is named the Palace of Florence!
A Historic Landmark
On August 3, 1989, the Palace of Florence Apartments became a recognized historic place. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in the U.S.. This list helps protect important buildings and sites.

These were some of the first buildings ever built on Davis Islands. They were built during the Florida land boom of the 1920s, when many people moved to Florida.
The Palace of Florence Apartments was fully restored between 2002 and 2003.
