The name Pappagallo means "parrot" in the Italian language.

How Pappagallo Started

Pappagallo was first brought to Finland by an Italian person named Giorgio Gallo. He wanted to share the taste of Italian ice cream.

Over time, the ice cream making moved to a company called Jäätelömestarit. Later, in 2012, another company named Arho Nordic bought Jäätelömestarit. In March 2015, the company changed its name again. It is now known as Green Taste.

People often enjoy Pappagallo's ice cream and sorbet. In the summer of 2010, a newspaper called Helsingin Sanomat reviewed their products. The reporter tried the raspberry sorbet. They said it was "like eating raspberries," and even had the seeds!

The chocolate ice cream was described as dark and strong. The liquorice ice cream tasted like salty liquorice.
