Paradise got its name because its founders thought it would be a great place for a mining community. They believed it would be a wonderful, almost "paradise-like," spot for mining activities.
A post office was opened in Paradise in 1891. This allowed people living there to send and receive mail easily. However, the post office only stayed open for a short time, closing down in 1902.
