Parlet was an American music group made up of talented female singers. They were a "spinoff" group, which means they started from a bigger, well-known band called P-Funk. P-Funk was famous for its unique funk music.

Parlet was formed by three amazing background vocalists: Mallia Franklin, Debbie Wright, and Jeanette Washington. Jeanette Washington and Debbie Wright were actually the very first female members of P-Funk, joining in 1975. This made them pioneers in the funk music scene!

The Story of Parlet

Parlet was created by George Clinton, the leader of the P-Funk musical family. He wanted to give the female singers a chance to shine on their own. The group was known for its fun, funky sound and catchy songs. They brought a fresh, female voice to the P-Funk universe.

Their music often had playful lyrics and strong, danceable beats. They released their songs through Casablanca Records, a popular record label at the time. Even though they were only active for a few years, from 1978 to 1980, they left their mark on funk music.

Music and Albums

Parlet released three studio albums during their time together. Each album featured their unique blend of funk and soul music.

Studio Albums
