Parnpajinya is a small Aboriginal community located in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. It is very close to the town of Newman, within the area managed by the Shire of East Pilbara.

Parnpajinya is found about 2 kilometres north-east of Newman. You can reach the community by a sealed road that connects to the Great Northern Highway.
Who Lives in Parnpajinya?
The community of Parnpajinya has an estimated population of about 40 people. The people living here usually identify as either Martu or Niabali people. These are two of the many different Indigenous Australian groups. The number of people living in Parnpajinya can change quite a lot. This is because it is so close to Newman, and people often move between the two places for work or family reasons.
Planning for the Future
Like many towns, Parnpajinya has a plan for how it will grow and develop. This is called a "Layout Plan." Parnpajinya Layout Plan No.1 helps organize how the community's buildings and services are set up. The community itself approved this plan on 8 August 2002. The Western Australian Planning Commission, which is a government group that helps plan land use in Western Australia, also approved it on 25 January 2006. This plan helps make sure the community develops in an organized way.
