Paro District facts for kids

Paro District is one of the 20 districts in the beautiful country of Bhutan. It's a very important area, known for its stunning natural beauty and rich history. The main town and administrative center of Paro District is called Rinpung Dzong. This is where many important government offices are located.
Paro District is also home to something very special: Paro Airport. This is the only international airport in all of Bhutan! It's nestled in a deep valley, making landings and takeoffs quite exciting.
What is Paro District?
Paro District is like a large county or region within Bhutan. It's divided into smaller areas called gewogs (pronounced "ge-wogs"). These gewogs are like village blocks or sub-districts. They help manage local communities and services.

Paro District has ten of these village blocks:

- Dopshari Gewog
- Doteng Gewog
- Hungrel Gewog
- Lamgong Gewog
- Lungnyi Gewog
- Naja Gewog
- Shapa Gewog
- Tsento Gewog
- Wangchang Gewog
Each gewog has its own local government and helps the people living there.
