Patrick O'Hagan (born Charles Alphonsus Sherrard, 1924-1993) was a talented Irish-Australian singer. He was known for his beautiful tenor voice and for singing traditional Irish and Celtic songs. Patrick was born in Derry, Northern Ireland. He later moved to Australia where he became very popular.

After finding success in Australia, he moved back to Ireland and lived in Drogheda in County Louth. There, he ran a pub for a while before deciding to return to Australia. In the late 1950s and early 1960s, he even had his own Australian television show called Patrick O'Hagan Sings. His singing career lasted for more than twenty years, from the 1950s to the 1970s.

About His Life

Patrick O'Hagan was married to Ellen Sherrard. They had four children: three sons named Michael, Eamon, and Sean, and a daughter named Fiona. Patrick O'Hagan passed away in Queensland, Australia. His wife Ellen died in 2012.

One of his sons, Seán Patrick Michael Sherrard, became a very famous singer too! He is better known as Johnny Logan. Johnny Logan is an Australian-born Irish singer and composer. He won the Eurovision Song Contest twice, which is a huge achievement! He won with the song "What's Another Year" in 1980 and again with "Hold Me Now" in 1987.

Johnny Logan often said that his father, Patrick O'Hagan, was his biggest inspiration. He once shared, "I wanted to be just like him and for him to be proud of me, as I was of him." Patrick and Johnny even toured together, performing in Australia and New Zealand.
