Paul Ahern's AFL Journey
Starting with the Giants
After being drafted, Paul faced some tough luck. He had several injuries, including two serious knee injuries that needed surgery. Because of these injuries, he wasn't able to play any senior games for the Giants during his two years with them.
Moving to North Melbourne
In 2016, Paul was traded to the North Melbourne Football Club. This meant he moved to a new team, hoping for a fresh start. Even after the trade, he had to wait a bit longer to make his debut.
Making His AFL Debut
Paul finally played his first AFL game in 2018. It was in Round 11 of the season, and North Melbourne played against Brisbane. His team won the game by a big margin! This was a special moment for Paul after all his hard work and recovery from injuries.
End of His AFL Career
Paul continued to play for North Melbourne until the end of the 2020 AFL season. At that time, North Melbourne made some big changes to their team. Paul was one of 11 players who were no longer part of the team.
