About Paul Kropp
Paul Stephen Kropp was born in Buffalo, New York, in 1948. He grew up in Buffalo. He went to Columbia University and earned a degree there.
Moving to Canada and Teaching
In 1970, Kropp moved to Canada. He continued his studies at the University of Western Ontario. After finishing his degree, he started teaching at a special school in Hamilton, Ontario. This school taught students skills for specific jobs.
Becoming an Author
Paul Kropp's first book, Burn Out, came out in 1977. He wrote this book for young people who might not enjoy reading very much. His goal was to make reading fun and easy for them.
His books have been translated into many languages, like German, French, and Spanish. They have also won awards in Canada and other countries.
Helping Young Readers
In 2002, Paul Kropp started a publishing company called High Interest Publishing with Terry Durkin. This company focused on creating books that would interest young readers. He also led the Canadian Society of Children's Authors, Illustrators, & Performers. This group helps people who write, draw, and perform for children.
His Family and Later Life
Paul Kropp was married to Lori Jamison. He passed away in 2015 at the age of 67.
