Early life and education

Paul Pelosi was born and grew up in San Francisco. He was the youngest of three brothers. His father, John Pelosi, was a pharmacist.

He went to high school at St. Ignatius High School in San Francisco and Malvern Preparatory School in Pennsylvania. He then studied at Georgetown University, where he earned a degree in foreign service. While at Georgetown, he met his future wife, Nancy D'Alesandro, who was studying at Trinity College in Washington, D.C. Later, he earned a master's degree in business from New York University's Stern School of Business. Since 2009, he has been in charge of the Foreign Service Board at Georgetown University.

Business career

Paul Pelosi started and still manages his company, Financial Leasing Services, Inc. This company is a venture capital firm, which means it invests in new and growing businesses. Through this company, he and his wife have built a significant personal fortune.

Before this, he had invested in another football team called the Oakland Invaders. In 2009, he bought a team in the United Football League, the California Redwoods, for $12 million. This team later moved to Sacramento and became known as the Sacramento Mountain Lions.

Personal life

Paul Pelosi married Nancy Pelosi (whose maiden name was D'Alesandro) on September 7, 1963. Their wedding took place in Baltimore, Maryland. They have five children together, including their daughters Christine and Alexandra. Nancy Pelosi served as the Speaker of the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011 and again from 2019 to 2023.

Nancy Pelosi's spokesperson said that doctors expected him to make a full recovery. A few days later, Nancy Pelosi shared that he was "making steady progress" but that it would be a "long recovery process." He was able to leave the hospital on November 3.

Paul Pelosi was first seen in public more than a month after the attack. He attended the Kennedy Center Honors with his wife. He wore a hat and a glove to cover his injuries.

The attacker was found guilty of federal charges on November 16, 2023. On May 17, 2024, he was sentenced to 30 years in prison.

In June 2024, Nancy Pelosi was asked about her husband's health. She said he was "making progress" and was "about 80% there, physically." She also mentioned that the experience was "terrible" for him emotionally.
