Paul Porter's Early Life

Paul Leroy Porter was born on August 20, 1962. His father was Reverend Eddie Porter, and his mother was Ora Porter. He grew up in Detroit, Michigan. Paul started singing at a very young age, performing on Easter Sunday when he was just three years old. He is also a cousin of the rapper and producer Denaun Porter. Denaun Porter is well-known as Kon Artis from the rap group D12.

Paul Porter's Music Career

Before starting his solo career, Paul Porter was a member of a group called The Christianaires. He and his brother, along with their cousins, formed this group in the late 1980s.

In 2008, Paul decided to begin his own music journey. He released his first solo album, A New Day, on September 30, 2008. Light Records released this album. A New Day was quite successful, reaching No. 21 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. The music website Cross Rhythms gave the album a good review, rating it eight out of ten.

His next album, F.R.E.E., was released on September 2, 2014. Motown Gospel released this project. F.R.E.E. also did well on the charts. It reached No. 33 on the Gospel Albums chart.
