Paul Vincent Carroll (born July 10, 1900 – died October 20, 1968) was an important Irish writer. He wrote many plays for the stage, and also scripts for movies and television shows.

Paul Vincent Carroll was born in Blackrock, a town in County Louth, Ireland. He studied to become a teacher at St Patrick's College, Dublin. In 1921, he moved to Glasgow, Scotland, where he worked as a teacher.

Many of his plays were performed at the famous Abbey Theatre in Dublin. He also helped start a theatre group in Glasgow called the Curtain Theatre Company.

Paul Vincent Carroll was married to Helena Reilly, who designed clothes. They had three daughters together. Their youngest daughter, Helena Carroll, later became an actress. He also had a son named Brian Francis.

Paul Vincent Carroll passed away in his sleep from heart failure when he was 68 years old. This happened in Bromley, England. He was a good friend of the poet Patrick Kavanagh during the 1920s.

  • Saints and Sinners (This was a movie script from 1949.)
  • She Went by Gently (This story appeared in Irish Writing magazine in 1953. It was later included in a book called 44 Irish Short Stories in 1955.)
