Pauloff Harbor, Alaska facts for kids
Pauloff Harbor is a place in Alaska that used to be a small community. It's on Sanak Island, about 50 miles (80 km) southeast of False Pass. Today, no one lives there all year round.
People mostly get there by boat or float plane from nearby towns like False Pass or King Cove. Even though it had a post office in 1949, it's now like a ghost town. A group called a 'village corporation' still exists, but its members live in Sand Point.

By 1980, no one was reported living there anymore. Since then, it hasn't been listed separately in the census.

Pauloff Harbor also has a special place for planes that land on water. This is called a seaplane base.
What is a Seaplane Base?
A seaplane base is like an airport, but for planes that can take off and land on water. These planes are often called floatplanes because they have floats instead of wheels. The Pauloff Harbor Seaplane Base is open for public use.
