Pavel Badea started his professional football journey with Universitatea Craiova in Romania. He made his first league appearance in 1984. He played there for many years, showing off his skills.
In 1992, Pavel moved to Switzerland to play for FC Lausanne-Sport. After three years, he went to South Korea. There, he joined Suwon Samsung Bluewings and played from 1996 to 1998.
Next, Pavel spent several seasons in Japan. He played for teams like Bellmare Hiratsuka, Kashiwa Reysol, and Avispa Fukuoka in the top Japanese league, the J1 League. He returned to Romania in December 2001. He finished his playing career with FC Extensiv Craiova and then again with Universitatea Craiova.
Throughout his club career, Pavel Badea played in 551 matches and scored 94 goals. He also represented his country, playing nine times for the senior Romania national football team between 1990 and 1992, scoring 2 goals.
