Pavel Dashkov facts for kids
Prince Pavel Mikhailovich Dashkov (born May 12, 1763 – died 1807) was an important Russian engineer. He was also a Fellow of the Royal Society, which means he was recognized as a leading scientist or engineer.
His Early Life and Education
Pavel was the son of Yekaterina Romanovna Vorontsova-Dashkova and Mikhail Ivanovich Dashkov. His mother, Yekaterina, was a very well-known and influential woman in Russia.
Pavel studied at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. He was there from 1777 to 1779. He earned a Master of Arts (MA) degree, which is a high level of education.
After his studies, Pavel worked with Grigory Potyomkin. Potyomkin was a powerful and important figure in the Russian Empire. Pavel was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society on February 8, 1781.

Pavel joined the Lodge Canongate Kilwinning, No. 2, on May 13, 1779. He was recorded as 'Paul [Pavel], His Highness, Prince of Dashkov.'
